Eligibility criteria is determined by the district and includes academic achievement and family income level. The district must continue to offer services during each school year that the school is identified for school improvement. The services must be from a provider approved by the state Department of Education and selected by the parents/guardians in cooperation with the school district. (See Title I Supplemental Educational Service Approved Providers – August, 2008.) Some providers offer services at the Cooperative Middle School, after the school day. A late bus is available to transport students home. Other providers allow students to access their programs online from the student’s home. In-home tutoring is also available from selected providers. Under the terms of NCLB, the Exeter Region Cooperative School District is required to set aside funds from the district or Title I budget for Supplementary Educational Services tutoring. In 2007-2008, 16 students were targeted for services, at a cost of $15,402. Last year, 15 students signed up and received free tutoring.
