Title 1

The Title 1 Part A program is a federal grant that is allocated to districts through the states department of education. The goal of the funds is to help schools provide supplemental support to children in order to meet state proficiency in academic standards. For more information on this federal program, please see the NH DOE page here.

Title 1 Math Lab Title 1 federal funds at the Cooperative Middle School go towards the Title 1 Math Lab program, coordinated and instructed by Samantha Sawyer. Math Lab is a supplemental tutoring service that is provided by the school during a student’s off-team class period. Students meet every other day in the school's Math Lab classroom to work on reviewing past skills and mastering skill gaps in their background knowledge.

Students who are performing below the 41st percentile on state standardized tests are eligible to enroll in Title 1 Math Lab. Often, students are recommended by their classroom teachers based on their performance in class. Data is collected through the NH SAS and i-Ready Diagnostic.

Supplemental Summer During the summer Title 1 provides eligible students with a four week Math & Reading program at no charge to families. During these weeks we review skills taught during the previous school year to help strengthen and maintain growth.
